LOCAL ROAD CLOSURE DETAILS

Cross Wynd, Hawick – from High Street to Lothian Street

Reason for Order – Patching works

Start Date and Duration –
• 26th October 2020 for 2 days – between the hours of 8:00 and 15:30 each day.

Alternative route:

Southbound – via O’Connell Street, Garfield Street and Allars Bank to point of closure.

Commercial Road access arrangements from 1 October (For more information on Flood scheme click on Projects Tab)

  • No change to the Commercial Road diversion route for A7 traffic, which continues along High Street for southbound traffic and Princes Street for northbound traffic
  • No change for access to all Commercial Road businesses between Albert Bridge and Bath Street
  • Bath Street will be made one-way from Commercial Road to the corner of the Old Baths/pedestrian entrance of Sainsbury’s. This is to allow Commercial Road traffic visiting businesses to safely leave the area. The remaining section of Bath Street will remain two-way.
  • Access to Aldi and Sainsbury’s will be from the North Bridge/Leisure Centre roundabout end of Commercial Road. This section of road will be two-way.
  • Access to all businesses on Commercial Road will be maintained.

Buccleuch Place / Beaconsfield Terrace, Hawick – from Buccleuch Street to Myreslaw Green

Reason for Order – Patching works

Start Date and Duration –
• 28th October 2020 for 2 days – between the hours of 8:00 and 15:30 each day.

Alternative route:
Southbound – via Buccleuch Street, Sandbed, Howegate, Drumlanrig Square and Beaconsfield Terrace to point of closure.
Northbound – via Beaconsfield Terrace, Drumlanrig Square, Kirk Wynd, Slitrig Crescent, Tower Dykeside, Tower Knowe, Sandbed and Buccleuch Street to point of closure.

Wellogate Place, Hawick
Weight Restriction

In accordance with section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the following road will have a 7.5T MGW weight restriction applied from 21st September 2020 for a duration of 18 months.

• Wellogate Place, Hawick – from Wellogate Brae to Elm Grove

Alternative Route for vehicles over 7.5T MGW

Northbound – via Wellogate Brae, Orchard Terrace and Elm Grove to point of restriction
Southbound – the above in reverse.

Local access will be maintained

This restriction is required by Scottish Borders Council for safety reasons

Reason for Order – Scottish Water works

Start Date and Duration –

From 22:00 to 06:00 on 29/10/20 to 03/11/20

There is no alternative route available.

Lochpark Road, Hawick – at its junction with Dakers’ Place

Reason for Order – Scottish Water manhole repairs

Start Date and Duration –

From 9:30 on the 17th November to 18:00 on the 17th November 2020

Alternative route:

Eastbound – via Dakers’ Place, Elm Grove, Lockhart Place and Lochpark Road to point of restriction.

Westbound – the above in reverse.

 

Hornshole

Reason for Order – Tree clearance

Start Date and Duration –

Sunday 25th October 2020 – between the hours of 8:00 and 17:00

Sunday 1st November 2020 – between the hours of 8:00 and 17:00

 

Alternative route:

Eastbound – via D14/3, D13/3, Burnfoot Road, Hamilton Road, Mansfield Road, Mart Street and A698  to point of closure.

Westbound – the above in reverse.

Drumlanrig Place, Hawick – from the Loan to Green Terrace.

Order Details –Road and Footway Closure

Reason for Order – Scottish Power works

 

Start Date and Duration –

From 00:01 on the 1st December to 23:59 on the 10th December 2020

Alternative route:

Northbound – via Loan, Cheviot Road, Crumhaugh Road and Drumlanrig Place to point of closure.

Southbound – the above in reverse.
